“I always wanted to be a nail tech… I just had to prove people wrong.”
“I always wanted to be a nail tech, ever since I was younger. I trained in beauty at college during night classes while I was working full time in the bank.
I was constantly told there was no money in the beauty industry and that I needed a ‘job for life.’ Eventually, I decided to specialise in nails - because I loved it! I wanted to prove people wrong, and I hope that I did, as now I run an incredibly successful business.”
Nickie’s story is one many in the industry will recognise - balancing work, study, and ambition to build something better.
Her determination has led to a thriving career in nails, and now she’s sharing that expertise with others through her accredited nail training courses in Scotland.

Also, just work on the basics to begin with. Don’t think about nail art, don’t stress about any of that initially - just get your basics perfect.”

“I love teaching people. I’m a natural motivator - I love encouraging and inspiring others. People often tell me they feel ‘inspired’ after they’ve spoken to me.
I also want to teach people the things I’ve learned along the way so they don’t have to struggle to find that information when they start out.”
